That Staggering Moment

Happy endings are not common ones but they usually give the best memories to us. I asked myself, what life could have been if I were alone and got the answer, “you both complement each other”. 

I remember the most bewildering moment of my life when I first eye-contacted him and this look just blew my mind. I was running to catch the lift in the building and after me; he came running too. I saw him throwing gestures to stop the lift, and I did hold it there. We both were running out of time, as we had to reach our offices. He rushed to the lift and said “Thank You’ in a captive way. 

Holding onto the moment, he smiled and I smiled too. We both left the lift and then there was an unknown silence in the vibes; we both already exchanged there. While in a hurry, I checked my purse and realized either I have forgotten my identity card at my apartment or I must have lost it while hurrying towards the lift. I called up mom and she checked at home, it was not there. After reaching the office, I had to notify the HR about my ID card loss. I did the needful and began working as ordinarily as I do every day.

Now comes the intense part of my story ! He called me on the number mentioned on my ID card; sounded like an unknown voice of a known person. Over the call, I came to know that I dropped my identity card while running towards my cab and until he picked my ID card, my cab already left. Fortunately, my ID card had my official mobile number too... 

His voice came like a jolt to my ears; broke all the walls of silence and gave me immense pleasure to listen as if it was a melodious song. We talked for almost five huge minutes and it was like forever to me. I was nervous the time we talked and was stuttering. 

He asked me to peep out of the window from where I can see the main entrance of my office. To my surprise, I found him standing right in front of my office while calling me. He told me that he works in the building right next to my office and because he could see my company details on my ID card, he took time out to give it back to me in person. 

I disconnected the phone in generosity and walked down to the entrance. When our eyes met this time, it was much more than what I felt while leaving the lift in the morning. I felt the unseen connection between both of us. He lent me the ID and while his fingers touched mine, I felt butterflies running all over my body. 

I said “Thank you” to him and he replied me with a never-ending smile that almost took my heart. I smiled too with a tinge of blush and we left for our offices then. That first hour of our conversation, undeviating & incidental, ended in a lifetime bond. we are together till today and will be together till eternity. 

I found out that very day, Love happens at the most uncommon, unpredictable situations in our life.
